I believe social networking is great, however it can become bad
for some markets, industries, or individuals when it comes to
growing their business.

Even some the most successful people online plant their feet
offline to keep themselves grounded. One-on-one is a place
that can help anyone grow personally and professionally.

I think social networking is good because it allows people the chance to share experiences with each other and it ultimately gives people a platform as consumers to vote up or down on products of their choosing. While this may be bad for companies that don’t make quality products. I think that in the long term, it will only help produce more quality in the market place.

You have a pleasant voice for podcasting. I appreciate this information as you have presented it.

I work at home so socializing in person is paramount for my professional survival. I don’t post that many conversational or “useless” tweets during the day, and I try not to do so on FaceBook either. Lately I have been posting a lot of interesting quotes and personal revelations, and that’s about it. Less often I post info about my upcoming events or speaking engagements. I pretty much only have friends and colleagues on FB, whereas I use Twitter more to establish my brand and bring new readers to my blog.

You mentioned Meetup. I signed up for Meetup a long time ago but have skimmed over the email notifications. Your podcast and another post I saw on Linkedin today both mentioned Meetup, so I know what I need to do!

    Thanks,
    Daree

Thank you for the compliment. ;o)

Yes, MeetUp.com can greatly help bring
online and offline together. In a lot of
instances bringing the two together is
very important in order to grow.

    Thank you for your feedback!

There a lot of positives about social networking,
however it has allowed to remain too far back
at times. There are times as entrepreneur and
as a small business where talking one-on-one
via the phone can help a great deal.
